Subject: Fw: Re: Truth 'Snopes vs TruthorFiction and Snopes hidden agenda. I received this from a very, very reliable source ()......It is something I've suspected when I've tried to check out Obama 'stories For example: the counter by Snopes, within minutes, of the info that broke on Obama last week. I sent it through here and found it labeled 'False' after it had only be out a few minutes.....They had a 'pat' answer prepared... Now, we can see, perhaps, why... Mary What so many take as gospel may have a agenda.
Snopes .vs. TruthorFiction A MUST READ Here's something for you to be aware of; the final decision is yours. A Google search revealed that Snopes.com is owned by David and Barbara Mikkelson, who live in Southern California and are Obama supporters. An interested reader (unknown to me) suspected that Snopes had a liberal bias after discovering several "half-truths" and distortions.
Compare their analysis of the Obama/Ayers connection with truthorfiction.com's analysis of the same subject. Snopes minimizes the connection, categorizing the rumor as a "Partial Truth," while truthorfiction calls it a "Truth" and, in fact, references a CNN expose of the two, as well as a Wall Street Journal article about their connection. Snopes not only does not reference either source cited above, but instead, lists a quote from an Obama spokesman as its main source.

http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/o/obama-ayers.htm
Another comparison of Snopes vs. Truthorfiction is their treatment of the email regarding "Obama's 50 lies." Snopes adds editorial comments favoring Obama on unproven statements or even on proven ones where the comments are that he is "taken out of context."

http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/o/obama-lies.htm
There are other things that they list as false, even though Youtube has videos of Obama or others actually making the statements.
Seems Snopes has a liberal agenda and http://www.truthorfiction.com/ might be a better, unbiased source.

Thanks TC. I am just amazed at all the deceit and deception this country has to endure. It seems that everyone has their own agenda and nobody is looking out for the health and well being of America. Most people do not know their history that well but EVERY great nation before us has fallen because of spending more than they have. From the Roman Empire through the British Empire. We heed not as we allow our very own country head down this fatal path. I am confident that, As Americans, we will wallow through this filth and become a greater nation from it. You and I (we all) need to return to common sense and decency and honor and let these leaders? wallow in their own crap. We need to remember we are 50 (57 according to the idiot) states and NOT a federal government that has inalienable rights to run their state as they wish, not a federal regulation. If Ohio wishes to concentrate on reading, writing and arithmetic and California chooses to let queers marry each other, that is a decision both states have to make on their own. I am tired of all this political correctness and all the BS that it generates. I am tired of being told that it is selfish for me to not want to help a lazy ass who uses MY money to propagate generations of lazy asses, who in turn, reach out their hand, not for a tool to use but to grab currency they hadn't ever earned. If any of them want, I will share my knowledge of my trade, not the bills in my wallet. That is not being selfish. Back to Snopes - I guess the bubble has popped on their credibility. |

Stumped.
There's a credible source - not! Snopes.com posts an article asserted that it is not biased, and that's your basis for supporting it? Pretty weak - what do you expect them to admit it? Liberals don't recognize their biases because their see their perverse world view reflected in the media every day so they think it is reality.

Tony, This is Truth or Fiction saying that the Snopes site is NOT biased. What better source than that? |

I have long suspected that. Snopes places the fiction tag on too many stories with a conserative agenda. I just ignore them. |

John, obviously you are not reading the truth or Fiction debunking of Tony's article posted above, or you would realize the charges against snopes are false! |

I would suggest that people who doubt go to the truthorfiction website and put in the info about snopes, truthorfiction and obama and see what it says. |

OK. I went to truthorfiction's actual website, put in snopes and I got the link that Joan posted. TorF NEVER made that claim. that is false. At the bottom of that post on TorFwas this: If you want I will post the entire thing. but Like I said before, go to their website and see for yourself. Dee,
Thank you for the clarification. I had misread the original post. I stand corrected about Truth or Fiction. However, my reading of Snopes.com is still that it has a definite liberal/left bias in its approach from my own personal observation of its explanations. |
