1.   "When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe."

2.   "THE DEMOCRACY WILL CEASE TO EXIST WHEN YOU TAKE AWAY FROM THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO WORK AND GIVE TO THEM WHO WOULD NOT."

3.   "It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes.  A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world."

4.   "I predict future happiness for Americans if THEY can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the PRETENSE of taking care of them."

5.   "My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government."

6.   "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."

7.   "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

8.   "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

9.   " TO COMPEL A MAN TO SUBSIDIZE WITH HIS TAXES THE PROPAGATION WHICH HE DISBELIEVES AND ABBORS IS SINFUL AND TYRANNICAL,"

An interesting quote from 1802 given the current financial crisis we have today.

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.  If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

Now who is this Democrat???

When I first registered to vote it was as a Democrat. Then as time went by I became so disgusted with my party that I left it and registered as a Republican. Well, bush and company changed that and I left there just as disgusted and became an Independent. Then I got to thinking, what the heck am I doing. Maybe the biggest problem with both parities is that too many good people have left and let the "far left and the far right" take over. So I made a decision. I want my party back. I am once again a Democrat and plan to stay put and fight for my party. I consider myself a true Democrat. Not a far left socialist who wants everyone to lock step to the party. I don't believe in the Broadcasting Fairness Doctrine , I think that is a sham to shut people up. I am glad we have Fox News, I don't want State ran news. I think we should get rid of special hate crimes and treat everyone equally under the law. I don't believe that abortion was ever intended to be used as a from of birth control and should not be used as such. I don't believe in book burning or word burning. It is nonsense to tell American citizens that we have freedom of speech, then proclaim anything one disagrees with as "hate speech".  I don't call people names because they don't agree with my politics. I think it is immature and asinine for people to roll their eyes, at Republicans, calling them Repukicans or Repubicans and other horrible names because they dare to disagree with Democrats. People like that are an embarrassment to my party and should have enough class to knock it off or start a party of their own. They could call it LSP, Lock Step Party, the number one rule being that you can have no mind of your own, just agree with everything they say and repeat it. I want my party back and I am going to work hard for that to happen. The Democrat Party, the Senate, Congress, etc, better wake up and take a lesson from the voter purging the Republican party just went through. Otherwise, it will happen to them.

And so has the rest of the world.  Would you care to live in those times knowing what you know now?  I doubt that.  I don't take issue with the right to bear arms.  I own guns and know how to use them.  In those times, it was ok to own slaves.  Women and children were the property of men and had no rights.  Child labor was common and accepted.  You don't hide your money under the mattress anymore and you don't work 12-16 hours a day 6 days a week either. Vacations?  What are those?  Starvation was a form of birth control.
Shall I quit now?
