live in Salem Oregon and we have had a lot of snow. The transformer in my area blew out with a loud bang around seven thirty last night and we just got power back a few hours ago. Man did it get cold in here. I have at apartment that is all electric! I am just now finally thawing out. Between that and crappy Qwest service it is all I can do to post. Hopefully this holds up. It is still really cold and icy. Just in case, I am doing laundry and cleaning like a mad woman. Lol.

I think it is finally safe to leave the house, thank God. I was getting a bad case of cabin fever! Lights are still on. Some are still without power. This is why I want a place with a wood stove. You stay warm and have hot food too.

Well yesterday, on the 27th we had tornado warnings, heavy rain and wind and it was 65' .  Go figure.  Today it is sunny and in the low 40's.  At least it will be good travel weather for my Houston-bound family to go home in today.

Hope you have heat by now, Kat.

Just got back from 5 days in New Orleans.  The temperature hovered between high 60's to low 70's except Christmas Dat when the temp reached 79 degrees.  Everybody wore shorts, tee-shirts and walked barefoot.  Humidity ranged between 95 and 97 percent, so darn, they HAD to turn on the A/C.  Been out of Ohio 4 years now and I sure don't miss the November through March Ohio weather.  I'm still a yankee down here, but at least I am a warm yankee.  The heaviest coat I wear is something you wear in April up north.  Hope everybody had a blessed Christmas.  I sure did.  Didn't even dream of a White Christmas.  LOL
