I have an excellent double bed with a spring interior base also, but Ive just bought an American feather/Down  cover that lays over your mattress, like sleeping on a cloud, for anyone who suffers with back problems etc or hip I would reccomend it,I got mine from QVC shopping channel.
Company called Northern Nights

Yes Foxy I've heard those mattress toppers are good

Don't buy Northern Nights flannelette sheets as they ' bobble up ' really bad, even after just one nights use AND they're not cheap

Gwen If you are not totally happy with anything you buy from QVC  you can send it or them back for a full refund of you purchase price  you have 30 days to try everything out you can sleep on their sheets and if not entirely happy they will return your money I have several sets of their flannel sheets and not had any bother with them

Ive got their flannelette sheets and no problem, now they have no single sets at all.
You should have sent them back to QVC.

Mine is a silent night bed with interior sprung base, but I think it needed the feather cover, even though its a new expensive bed,I did not think it was very comfy.

Thanks Jean and Foxy but I DID send them back and they paid the postage  I have been a customer of QVC for a long time now ( as our bank statements will show  lol ) Maybe my sheets bobbled because of the night sweats I still get from the menopause  lol My duvet most noghts ends up on the floor rofl
I have one of those memory foam mattresses, not Tempur but exactly the same, and it's the first mattress I've had that hasn't given me backache or sciatica. Only one problem with them and that's that they are hard to roll over on, you have to really haul yourself over rofl.  I recommend them to everyone
