Do you think a two year spell in the services would help to straighten out some of these out of control youth?
Cyprus they all have to serve for two years and seems not to have harmed my Cypriot friends son who is a decent law abiding young man?
A few boot camps I think would be a good idea also.

I used to preach this message but my son in law who is in the army disagrees.  With all the technology these days, he says, the last think you need is a bunch of thickos let loose with the latest missile launcher, or in charge of servicing a tank.
Sergeny majors are no longer the sadistic bullies as featured in comedy films, but skilled teachers who (whilst still demanding drill and discipline) are not in the business to browbeat a bunch of mo-hopers into the ground.
Sadly, we need nore input from families (lol) and teachers (poor things) or maybe bring back 'hard labour' as a punishment instead of comfy prison cells and sky TV.

Does The "Pioneer Corps" no longer exist D/B? I dont think they dig  Latrines
with computers do they ? Mind you I may be Wrong-- apparrently they do just
about every thing else "Virtually" these days,
Seriously though Foxy has put forward an excellent suggestion -as a frequent visitor
to Cyprus I Wholeheartedly agree with her, The Yob Culture just does'nt seem to
exist there,
Also What she has'nt said is that they cannot obtain either Full Passport-- Driving
licence-- or receive their Degrees/Qualifications until they have Done their bit,
But Cypriots have a vastly different attitude to service personell-- I've been on
coach trips over there when the driver has stopped to pick up a young "Squaddie"
on his way back to Camp after W/E leave, Their soldiers are really respected by
the public --Not Told   "Dont Wear your uniform in town You'll upset people"
Yes Foxy -It would be nice to see the same over here ,

Same reply to similar questions. Discipline starts in the home, from day one.
Family values are disintergrating and responsibilities passed onto teachers by lazy or incompetant parents.
Too much emphasis on Human Rights of prisoners and not on Victims of crime.
Political Correctness restricts critisising single parents [especially the young mothers].
Recently there was a Womans Group quoted in the press, stating that women should not be jailed..What the hell was that about.!!!!
Get back to old fashioned principals and family values. Dont spare the rod,and give equality for all .and oh yes BURN ALL FEMINISTS.
