Does anyone know is drinking in the street illegal now?
Twice running boys about 17 have passed my house at 10am in a morning drinking beer?
Obviously been to the corner shop, one was weaving all over the place,I thought it was illegal to drink in the streets now?

Well what about these new aged 21 drinking laws they want to bring in do you think they will work ?of course they wont the corner shops will still sell cheap alcohol they try to cover themselves now by letting the blame for selling to underage with the shop assistant of course they should take some of the blame but if the shop owner wants to sell cheap alcohol he must take some of the blame too. hes the one getting all the profit.ginger

Ginger Ive already reported one Asian shopkeeper who sold drink to under aged kids, who then threw eggs at everyones windows,
Bring back national service, open some boot camps, get the police on the streets daily, all these ostrich do gooders make me sick, its actions and rule changes needed not the kid glove treatment.
My friend just returned from manhatten, police on every corner, they said they felt safer there than walking about in London.
From what I see of all UK cities they are like ferrell out of contol lunatics, and should be refused hospital treatment for liver disorders and drunkeness, but no doubt it will long continue, being allowed to do just what they like.

Working as I do in a supermarket, I've become paranoid over the age thing and drink.  The shop assistant the the person who gets fined if caught selling to under age drinkers, and I find myself asking for ID from people in their 30s (as they all look young to me!).  Most of them are amused and flattered, but I've had one or two very outraged people through my till.
Anyway, drinking in the street IS illegal now, which is sad as I do enjoy sitting at a pavement cafe in France and drinking wine ....  don't you?

In some areas if a pub has paid a license for the pavement in front of the pub to be used as a cafe area you can have a drink there but the area has to be cordened off  and only drink in a seated area.the pub  also pay extra tax to do so.ginger
