Roy I think in some ways I have to agree with you, when Og was first ill and I took him to A&E they did not hesitate to take him in and the care he got was second to none in all the weeks he was there. Recently things seem to have slipped a litle but,,, he has been given a bed and although it has taken a while we seem to have got the recent required op and they on the wards are doing everything they can. It has required quite a few outbursts to get things done  both from me and the sister on the ward but thank goodness we have got there, and we would never manage without the service being there.

But in the day and age of closing all the wards everywhere, here included , we really do have to be pleased we have this service.

Also I have been dealing with the Hospital for almost 30yrs now since my first daughter was born and had a foot problem and then with my youngest and her rare disorder and I have so much to thank them for in these matters.

There is also the other side of course  which we tend to hear much more about, about the waiting lists  cancelled ops etc. Yes I agree this does happen and when it happens to you it is very annoying as we well know from experience. But then again  I have to say all the positive sides outweigh the negative for us here.

I had anoccasion when I had an op and it went drastically wrong, but that did not put me off the system apart from I requested not to ever let that surgeon near me ever again for fear of what I might do LOL.

Drs appontments....... my only gripe is not being able to pre book but must say, the practice has 3 locations here along the immediate coast and can always get an appointment at some time that day, even in the summer when we have the thousands of holidaymakers needing the service too, so thats good.
