We have a small windfarm not far from us, and I personally like to go and watch the blades slowly turning although I know a lot of people think they are unsightly. They hardly make any noise at all and there are no houses anywhere near. However along with many more people I have been led to believe they are inefficient compared to other ways of making electricity, and that water power such as is used in Switzerland is the most friendly and efficient. As we don't have lots of lovely fast flowing water here we'll just have to make the best of what we have - wind! (maybe the sea?) |
