I will be helping out on a trial children's program monthly at church, during the worship time.

I am looking for fingerplays, action songs, etc.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi!
It looks like you've been a long time waiting for a reply--are you still looking?
The ABC usually has some nice children's song books, often specifically geared for a certain age group.
Don't forget the old standby's!
Jesus Loves Me is a vital message, and is especially special when you use sign language with the words.
This Little Light of Mine and He's Got the Whole World in His Hands are simple and fun.
Scripture songs are a great way to open the children's hearts, too.  I have made up my own posters with the words and simple bright pictures.  I have the smaller ones laminated.  You could use posterboard if your group is large, or construction paper for a tighter group.  The children love holding up the signs as "their" part of the song comes up.  Keep a smile on your heart and on your face, pray the Lord's blessing, and He will bless!
It is a bit difficult to share in words without being in person, but I can reccomend one more excellent source of ideas--ask the grandmas in your church!  One of my favorites was a little finger-play missionary story about a boy who lived in the jungle.  I'm sure you will learn your own favorites.  The children will love the same ones over and over!
God bless your efforts!
