FUNNY: 17 Mules
A Missouri farmer passed away and left 17 mules to his three sons. The instructions left in the will said that the oldest boy was to get one-half, the second oldest one-third, and the youngest one-ninth. The three sons, recognizing the difficulty of dividing 17 mules into these fractions, began to argue.
Their uncle heard about the argument, hitched up his mule and drove out to settle the matter. He added his mule to the 17, making 18. The oldest therefore got one-half, or nine, the second oldest got one-third, or six, and the youngest son got one-ninth, or two. Adding up 9, 6 and 2 equals 17. The uncle, having settled the argument, hitched up his mule and drove home. |

Hi Tex! That’s a good one. I heard a similar one years ago . Many years ago, 3 men were travelling way up north ,in winter, on the Alaska highway. Their car broke down ., so they walked to the small town up the road. The hotel owner knew he had a chance to overcharge these men given their plight, so he charged 30 dollars for the room ( a huge price in that day ) and took a ten dollar bill from each of them. Later his conscience got the better of him and he decided to give them some of the money back. He gave his bellhop 5 one dollar bills and told him to give them back to the 3 men. As the bellhop was going to their room he was wondering how to divide 5 dollars among 3 men and decided to give each of the 3 men 1 dollar back, and put the other 2 in his pocket. So to conclude, each man put down a ten dollar bill to pay the thirty dollar fee. Each man got one dollar back. So now each man has paid 9 dollars. ( 9 times 3 is 27). The bell hop had put 2 dollars in his pocket. ? 2 plus 27 only equals 29. Where is the missing dollar, from the original 30? Blessings Love-n-Grace |
