Heh heh he, ~5pm05april2006 (pacific time USA)

Thanks for the query there Lisa Angel!

Actually, it is with frivolity and not a little joy that this response is made! (^___^)

The famous earthy author, Robert Burns of Scotland shared in his poem/ditty ("
Green Grow the Rashes") that God, with His"'prentice hand" He made the man, and then He made the lasses.

In more mysterious terms, in my reading of The Bible, that there were two reasons given for making the woman. One, it was not good for man to be alone, and Two, there was some remnant or residual of spirit that was left after making the man.

God is not one to throw things away now is He? Of course not! so what to do with that portion of His Spirit which overflowed from His making of  the first man?

Why! make another one!...and form them, the whole world has been populated with those fashioned after the very image of God!

Yo, who R U kidding?  There was only 1 reason given in the Bible to make woman & that it was because it was not good 4 man 2 B alone. Where in Genesis does it say the other reason???  This reminds me of a Bible joke. Where in the Bible do U find baseball mentioned? In the big-inning. Get it? Blue

Hey Blue!  WHEW!  ~5:13pm10april2006(California time)USA

Yes! In my reasoning, it wasn't good for the man to be alone. But having a spouse, like all the other birds, fish and animals made on the fifth and sixth days is part of the expected process we see happing in spring : "To be fruitful and multiply" which was basically mentioned by God for his fleshly creation on both of those work days.

As for dealing with the children, here is where the "residue of spirit" comes in, for those which come of marriage are the ones in which God manifests the more of Himself.

Having you take me to task for my sloppy and incomplete ideology was very helpful to me!

Thanks! and as for skipping to the last book of the Old Testament we get a little more insight into God's family planning.

Poor Israel was so confused about the function of marriage that His prophet had to really spell it out to their darkened minds!

And did not He make one? Yet had He the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.        Malachi 2:15  (KJV)

Blessings, and grace, yo-nc :    ~5:25pm10april

p.s verse fourteen helps some to, and some of the other verses...

God created Men first because he needed a rough draft before he made women (the masterpiece)!* ;]
