I Will Return

I will return, is a promise, He made to you and me,
Just before He ascended, His Father to see.
Christ gave His all, our burdens He would bare,
This is true love, for those who care.
He lived his life on earth, as a man,
He roamed and taught, throughout the land.
His spirit was with him, where ever he went,
God's love, He so widely spent.

I will return, was what He said,
To his flock, He so lovingly lead.
Why such a promise, like that, would he make?
It was God's will and His Father's sake.
For Christ, is the son of our Father above,
He is the real meaning, of God's true love.
A strong but gentle touch, of His hand,
Left a feeling that God's love, filled this man.

I will return, what did He mean?
I guess in time, that will be seen.
Maybe He is telling us, we should be ready,
Keep our lives in order, and be steady.
Read His words, for there you'll find,
The answers, and have peace of mind.
Joyous be the day, my Father shall reign,
Of His love, the angels shall sing.
