God's Desire

Sacrifice is not God's desire
Burnt offerings not preferred
Neither quenches Satan's fire
Or heals a heart once deterred

Jesus fulfills our Father's desire
Teaching us knowledge of God
And God's mercy is loves healing Sire
Healing of heart we desire God

In acts of mercy we sacrifice
A moment of our selfishness
Yet all we give will not suffice
Until all we give is selflessness

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
One God with Holy desire
One Word for us to learn it
One Word for our desire

Holy Spirit in God's grace
Lead us to Holy Word
Jesus Christ fills the space
With life and light God reveals the Word.
