Lift me Lord to your heart,
may I feel the beat;
hold me close in Your arms Lord,
the fragrance of Your love so sweet.
Hold me close in the storms,Lord
when friends betray and go;
may they feel Your Spirit love them,
and the blessings of being His lamb they know.
May we learn to get along Lord,
leaving slander, gossip and provocaton alone;
may we see our faults like we see others,
when our own errs You show.
Speak to me Dear Father,
let you spirit wash over me;
may I become the woman of virtue,
as You have always taught me to be.
Help me learn to bridle the tounge,
when it might otherwise lash out and cause pain;
let me forgive and forget as I also want,
let me feel the humbling spirit again.
Teach me Lord to lose myself,
and work in your fields each day;
and when I glean in the fields of tares,
let the thorns of sinful attitudes not hamper my way.
When the tears of life flow in turrents,
let me feel You wipe pain away;
So soft is the love You give us,
how ofen You show it each day.
Lift me to Your heart Lord,
let me rest on Your chest tonight;
let me hold close to all you desire of me,
let my candle keep shining bright.
