An Unfulfilled Dream
Looking into the sky
I feel the breeze caress my face;
His hand cups my cheek.
The moon kisses my face
Like a lover’s touch-
Light yet all consuming.
I tremble in Night’s ethereal beauty,
Awed, inspired, energized ?and lonely.
I am alone, my other half nowhere to be found.
Inside back I go,
heaviness settling on my heart and shoulders.
My eyes hurt from the unshed tears.
Off in the distance, a wolf howls,
Echoing the cries yet to be given a voice.
