Thought you might want to try this. 
Maximize your email or whatever you
are working on.  Go to Start . . .
bottom left corner, click Run,
type in osk, then OK.  You will
have your keyboard on your screen.

I keep a shortcut to OSK on my desktop.. If your keyboard quits how ya gonna type in osk  ?  LOL  With a shortcut it's just a mouseclick away..

here's how to put a shortcut on your desktop
 
 
Right click anywhere on the Desktop, New - Shortcut
Type osk in for Location, click Next - Name Shortcut - click Finished
