Making a Vase with
Gradients

1.  open a new transparent image of 500x500
2.  On the color palette, set the foreground to gradient...the gradient color that you like....:) and use these settings:
horizontal  = 50
vertical = 100
invert is checked

and, under style..we will be using the one on the far right...radial.
The center point settings at the bottom should be:
h = 50
v = 100

3.  Click ok and then floodfill your image.
4.  with the freehand tool...these settings:
selection type...edge seeker
mode - add (shift)
feather - 0
range - 0
smoothing - 0
antialias is checked
Start with your cursor down at the top left side of your image and holding it down..go to the middle of your image..click it down and then go on down the middle of your image to the bottom...touch it down again and then go over to the left approx. 1 inch or so, touch it down again, and then slant it up to meet your starting point. Click and you should have marching ants forming your triangle shape with a flat bottom..:)

Now, go to your raster 1 layer in the layer palette and right click and promote to layer.
Delete the other layer...just leave the promoted layer.
Selections/select none to remove the ants.
Duplicate the promoted layer then click on image/mirror....merge the 2 layers together and voila'! you have a vase!
Now, play with the effect...artistic effects using different effects such as enamel, glowing edges, colored foil, etc.
Add some flowers or whatever to decorate your vase.
here's an example of what I came up with:
