BEFORE AND AFTER
Before I knew the blessed Lord and Saviour,
Before I knew the wonder of His love,
Before I knew He gave his life to save me,
Before I knew of Heaven, sweet Home above,
I lived a life so far apart from Jesus
I could not hear His tender pleading voice;
Till one glad day He found my heart receptive
To His great love, "Now doth my soul rejoice!"
And after I had shared this love so gracious,
And after I had learned this way so new,
And after I had pledged my heart's allegiance,
And after I had learned, "He loves you too"
My heart became so filled with love's compassion
For those who live a life like I once did,
A life so filled with selfish sinful pleasure,
That the light of His dear Love from them is hid!
So, unsaved Friend, please listen to this warning
Accept His love, before it is too late!
And after that, your heart will know such gladness
You'll wonder what it was that made you wait.
