I walk alone, no other walks besides me
No arm is bared to ease my heavey load.
I pray alone with not an Amen sounding
So lonely do I walk this pilgrim road.
And when I sing my praise to God the Father
With grateful heart, I hear no other voice
That joins with me in joyous tones ascending
Alone I walk, sing, pray; alone rejoice!
No, not alone, my saviour walks beside me
He hears my lonely saddened heartfelt plea,
For when my song of love ascends to heaven
He answers back " I'll ever walk with thee".
So if it be my lot that I must serve Him
In lonely state, through out my earthly stay,
'Twill comfort me to know His blessed presence
And tender love is just a prayer away.
No more will I bewail my pain and heartache
With such a Ones as Christ to be my friend.
Just knowing that He'll never, ever leave me
Will strengthen me and keep me to the end!
