CMT ?Natural remedy for Joint Pain
By Jim McMahon
Diehl’s many years of research resulted in the discovery of a nutrient that is today’s most used and most effective natural remedy for severe arthritis and other forms of inflammation.
There are many natural options in the treatment of joint pain. Glucosamine, turmeric, bromelain, chondroitin, and other natural compounds are all used to alleviate the pain caused by inflammation. Cetyl myristoleate was first isolated 1964 by Harry W. Diehl, a researcher at the National Institute of Arthritis, Metabolic and Digestive Diseases. Diehl’s many years of research resulted in the discovery of a nutrient that is today’s most used and most effective natural remedy for severe arthritis and other forms of inflammation.
What is Patented CMT?
Cetyl myristoleate is a fatty acid ester. Fatty acids are the building blocks of oils and fats, just like amino acids are the building blocks of protein. To make an ester of a fatty acid, we need to add an alcohol molecule to it. To sythenesize cetyl myristoleate, myristoleic acid (a fatty acid) is added to cetyl alcohol (a fatty alcohol) and heated. The actual patented process is a little more complicated than that, but you get the idea. Two rather common natural substances are combined to form another natural substance, cetyl myristoleate. Cetyl myristoleate has been used by tens of thousands of patients with astounding results in the relief of arthritis. In 1996, Mr. Diehl obtained a patent for cetyl myristoleate for the treatment of osteoarthritis, which means that this product is now patented for both rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
One Doctor’s Personal Experience
Dr. Charles L. Cochran writes:
“I myself have suffered with arthritis since 1967, when I tore all the supportive tissue in my shoulder during a motorcycle accident. I’ve had three separate surgeries for chronic dislocation after the accident and many, many trips to an orthopod for steroid injections so I could keep working. If injected in the right spot, the stuff was magic, but I knew that all of the symptoms would return in two to three weeks.
In 1988, I discovered the benefits of glucosamine sulfate. It wasn’t the magical pain reliever that prednisone was, but after 10 to 12 weeks of daily use, I started to feel a fluid movement in my shoulder that I hadn’t experienced in years. Then, a friend of mine shared the story of cetyl myristoleate. I still had some residual shoulder pain ?a dull ache that was there most of the time. I really wasn’t aware of it much except at night when I rolled over on my right side and the pain would increase only to eventually wake me up. This would happen five or six times each night. After taking cetyl myristoleate for only four days, I had my first good night’s sleep in years! I remember waking up on my right shoulder early in the morning with NO shoulder pain!
Cetyl myristoleate, without any complimentary nutrients, has proven to be at least 70% effective in treating the various forms of arthritis. The results are relatively fast. And after completing a month-long program, only a handful of my patients required a full follow-up treatment, with a few more needing small, occasional maintenance doses.
Cetyl myristoleate works as a surfactant, which tends to lubricate tissue and thin the synovial fluids, making them less sticky. This allows joints to move more freely. Secondly, it functions like the omega-3 fatty acids, regulating prostaglandin and leukotriene production to decrease inflammation. Lastly, it has an immuno-modulating effect on hyper-immune responses, such as we find in rheumatoid arthritis and, as some believe, in non-effective prostatitis.
Absorption of cetyl myristoleate can be a little tricky, so I recommend that each capsule be taken with lipase. Many arthritis victims have decreased or absent production of lipase, the enzyme that breaks down oils and fats into smaller, more absorbable particles. Furthermore, cholecystectomy patients or those with a history of liver or gall bladder disease or obstruction may also have trouble absorbing cetyl myristoleate without further help. For these patients, I recommend lecithin along with lipase to emulsify the oil.?/FONT>
The Future of Patented CMT
I believe, as Diehl stated in his patent and article, that the real potential of CMT lies in its ability to prevent arthritis. Those individuals who are genetically predisposed to developing arthritis after experiencing joint trauma, for example, may be able to prevent the whole chronic inflammatory process. The potential benefits of patented CMT are too great to ignore. I’m looking forward to more health professionals using cetyl myristoleate in their practices. As effective as cetyl myristoleate is in reversing arthritic conditions, I expect it to have equally far-reaching effects in treating other chronic inflammatory conditions.
What to Look For
CMT is a naturally occurring fatty acid ester that is 100 times more powerful as an anti-inflammatory than fish oils and is regarded to be at least 10 to 20 times better than glucosamine HCL or sulfate. You should always make sure that you are getting cetyl myristoleate, which is the active component of a good CMT formula. CMT products come in capsules that contain other cetyl esters (myristate, palmitate, oleate and stearate). Check the label of your CMT supplement to make sure that you are getting actual cetyl myristoleate. This component comes from a group of cetyl compounds which naturally occur together in one complex; while the supplement may be 300 mg of a CMT complex, it will only contain about 30?0 mg of active cetyl myristoleate. CMT is available on its own as well as in formulations with lipase, an enzyme that aides absorption; bromealin, to help break down fibrin clots and further reduce inflammation; MSM, another good inflammation reliever; and sometimes quercetin, which inhibits hyper-immune response. CMT is more effective in capsule form, rather than tablets.
Utilising Patented CMT Effectively
The best application of CMT is a large dose over approximately three weeks, twice a year. In those three weeks, a daily intake of 600 mg (about 10?5 capsules) of active CMT is recommended. This twenty-one day regime is followed by a daily intake of about 200?50 mg of active CMT (about 4? capsules).
Final Notes
This compound can work in as little as two weeks. Most pain sufferers find between 60% and 100% relief after just six weeks on CMT. Dr. Hunt, M.D. states, “It’s rare to see an arthritic resist the effects of [CMT].?/FONT>
Will Brink (see Muscle Media, April 1998) works with several bodybuilders who swear by CMT. These athletes put the ultimate stress imaginable on their joints. Many of the Olympic and professional athletes who we work with use patented CMT to prevent excessive joint wear and tear. The first three weeks on CMT can provide better, and faster, relief than glucosamine or chondroitin. CMT has been written up in papers all around the country, and research has been reviewed in such prestigious medical journals as The Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (1994). After three years working with CMT, I have become convinced that there is no reason for arthritis sufferers to dabble in other, less proven supplements. CMT is patented, proven, and really does outperform all other supplements in the relief of joint pain.
