dear friends, everything has been in an uproar. my daughter has a boyfriend and they are spending every minute together. here are a couple of pics of them together.  here is another w/his glasses, i think they are such a cute couple. but i'm a bit biased if you think about it. things are going so well w/them that my best friend already has them married and her pregnant. lol! i told them to of course take their time. i was supposed to go to an interview this morning, but i over slept b/c of a fever i woke up with. so i called and let them know i was going to be late but i told them it was b/c i was held up from another interview. then she said she would call me back later to reschdule b/c the state auditors office had shown up. so i'm gonna call her back in a minute to see if we can still reschedule for tomorrow morning. well, i just called her back and i get another chance at an interview tomorrow morning at 10:30am and i will be early. lol! wish me luck! its close to home and i can sit down for it. well, i will talk to you all later. hugs everybody! nancy in reno |

the interview went well. the lady said that she will be interviewing thru next week and will do call backs then. there is no benefits. so it wouldn't probably be a job i would stay with (but of course i didn't let them know that) and would keep up my job search. then i ran over to the atlantis HR b/c nobody has called me about a pbx operator job and i'm more than qualified. it seems that that stupid shoplifting charge 7yrs ago really keeps screwing w/me on getting decent jobs. so i went over there and told them to please tell the person in charge of hiring for that position that for the last 6mos i have worked on a daily basis w/at least $10k in a safe at my old job. that i have never once taken even a penny from the till or anywhere else. so they promised to resubmit my application and resume to the proper depts. peppermill called me yesterday about working in the club card/passport (all casinos have this) its a card you sign up for in a casino, you use it when you play and it tracks your playing and your comps. also they send you offers, free coupons and other stuff to your home address. well, i told them that if its a standup position i would need a stool or rolling chair to do the job. so the lady said she would call me back after she called HR. so on my way back home i dropped in there also. i told them about my cash handling experiences and filled out a paper application. so they are resubmitting my resume and application to both the pbx and the reservation agents manager (same person) and they should be calling me for an interview in a few days. i'm also going to call wal-mart and get on their butts about my application. if i'm not qualified for wal-mart, what am i qualified for? lol! thanx for your well wishes, keep chanting for me! nancy in reno ps. hilary is getting more and more accepted by john's mom. i guess she realizes there is nothing she can really do anyway! |

This business of job searching is really a challenge, however I must say you seem to be pursuing it with a real focus which is bound to return success ! As to that charge 7 years ago, in some places here things of that nature can be removed from your record, what it's called doesn't come to mind right now. This is not meteing out any kind of justice, to me it seems to go waay beyond the size of the event. NOt to mention how humilliating & embarrasing it must be for you to have to go into this everytime you want to apply for a job ! That in itself must be rather stressful to say the least ! And I do hope John's mom turns out to enjoy Hilary as time goes on! Qualified for Wal-Mart, I'd say you are over qualified - that's likely why they haven't made an offer - figure you'll just soon find something better, right ? Still chanting, blessings Rene |

you are so right about being over qualified. i know if i usually do not get a job, it usually means it was not right for me. things are going better with john's mom. she met hilary again over dinner at a buffet the other night (john takes his mother and father out weekly to dinner to avoid paying rent and to socialize w/them) and the most she had to say was that she was overdressed. but she was cute and thats all the counted. yes, it is rather embarrassing to go thru that all the time. but i will keep chanting about it and eventually it will go away hopefully. lol! it's not like i have a string of convictions. geez! i feel like such a criminal. anyway, you take care and catch me on the MSN IM if you get a chance. hugs, nancy in reno |
