You have a great collection of information here.  I've only just scratched the surface, reading wise.  How long have you had CFIDS or FM?

Hi Sage !  I'm glad you've decided to join in here, Welcome
All the reading I've done has helped me to retain some semblance of sanity - I like to think ! lol
I've had FM for about 20 years, when I first got it I could barely move out of my rocking chair to look after a new babe and do the most basic of household things !  Sometimes I've done really well and other times, not so much. These days I'm somewhere in between !

The information - ?  I think I've an entire  CD full of gathered articles, not to mention clipped mag. articles and books !  What can I say, I'm a real pack-rat when it comes to information about these things !  I subscribe to rather a few "ezines" and find little tidbits here and there.  Now if I could just recall even a good bit of it all, I'd be happy.

I think I saw that you have FM, too ??  How long have you had it ?  and how is it affecting you ?

Diagnosed with FM possibly CFIDS a couple of years ago.  I've been sick about 15 years.  I got rid of the FM (pain part) about a year ago and continue to improve - well, most of the time.  I've slipped a bit since Dec.  I've been going through some testing to rule out stuff.  Infectious disease appt. today said I have high levels of Rheumatoid factor but I don't have arthritis so will be going to another specialist to see what they have to say.  No viruses show up at this time but I've been actively treating for them for 3 months.  I mostly deal with fatigue and the little strange symptoms so consider myself lucky.

How about you?  Is your level of funtioning fairly good?  Do you take meds or just naturals?

Yes, I have FM, chronic headaches and my back is a source of a lot of pain, too - 3-4 injuries - baseball, tobogganing, skating & another fall !  I was diagnosed with fibrositis about 15 yrs ago because of severe chest pain - I figured I was way too young for heart trouble - lol ! But that only gave me a lable for the stuff that went with it - depression and insomnia, tinnitis.  For the last several years I haven't taken any meds just supplements, homeopathics and herbs. Although I do keep a strong pain med, for exceptional situations. It goes in cycles, I have a really good week 'n then some when I nap an extra 2-3 hrs morning and afternoon !

I hope your appointments go well. How have you been treating viruses ?

I use P'au D'arco and Elderberry, sometimes garlic and cayenne for viruses.  My test that I just got back sho no signs of viruses.  So, perhaps I didn't have any or I've killed them off.  They did show Rheumatoid factor as high - 152....normal is 0-43.  They are sending me to a Rheumatologist to see what is going on there.  I don't have any other indications of arthritis.

Wow Sage - Good News !  I use garlic caps daily, cayenne is excellent - I used to use it & it really made a difference [the woman-Herbalist/ Irridologist who trained me] was very big on cayenne use; and I love P'au D'arco. Elderberry I've  read a little about, but haven't actually used - what form do you use?

Elderberry as a capsule.  It happened to be the cheapest way to go the day I went shopping for it.

I've read quite a bit about it, but so far have seen it in a rather sweet drink concentrate, soo I shall have to look a little further !

hi rene, i've been through all those herbs and they are helpful.  but i have found that oil of oregano and olive leaf taken everyday really does the trick.  i haven't had a cold, sore throat, stomach bug or anything for going on three years now,  and my fm pretty much disappeared when i started the olive leaf.  which support my stealth virus theory.

Yes, we used oil of oregano for quite sometime - excellent ( i just wish it cost a little less),  What's that old saying ??  "the proof is in the pudding" ??  I know these approaches do work.   I tend to rely on my Chinese herbs for colds, very effective & inexpensive, but not available everywhere. I don't think either of us have had a stomach bug for a long time.

the chinese have been geniuses with herbs.  i've become more interested in there herbs and ways of health care lately.  i have an excellent book on it, the title slips my mind right now, but i'll go hunt it up later and post it.  i really highly recommend it.

I was so very blessed to be introduced to an amazing Dr. from China who helped to introduce me to these wonders.  I've seen some excellent books on the topic & one of these days plan to add one to my collection !
