Natural Yellow Jacket and Fruit-Fly Traps

Chet, I'm a subscriber to several of your emails. Thank you very much, I enjoy them all.

I just want to share two uses for carbonated soft drinks, other than as a marinade...

First, cut a 2 liter bottle, around the circumference, just where the "neck" meets the largest diameter of the bottle (a little hard to describe). Invert the neck and insert into the bottom, forming a funnel. Pour in a non-diet soft drink.

Now you have a perfect yellow jacket trap.

Second, stop at a fast food establishment and purchase a non-diet soft drink. Pour out at least half of the drink (if it's cola, it can be used to clean concrete). When you get home, tape all openings closed except the straw. Also cut the straw under the lid so it does NOT touch the soda.
Set on counter near fruit.

Now you have a perfect fruit-fly trap.

Enjoy!

Ray
