Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

You are strong  when you take your grief and teach it to smile.

You are brave  when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.

You are happy  when you see a flower and give it your blessing.

You are loving  when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.

You are wise  when you know the limits of your wisdom.

You are true  when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

You are alive  when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's  mistake.

You are growing  when you know what you are but not what you will become.

You are free  when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to  control others.

You are honorable  when you find your honor is to honor others.

You are generous  when you can take as sweetly as you can give.

You are humble  when you do not know how humble you are.

You are thoughtful  when you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.

You are merciful  when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.

You are beautiful  when you don't need a mirror to tell you.

You are rich  when you never need more than what you have.

You are you  when you are at peace with who you are not.

MY FAVORITE PLACE TO PRAY

My garden is a peaceful place
Where I can go to slow my pace.
There while digging in the sod
I seek direction from my God.

No problem is too big or small;
He listens to them all, one and all.
I always know I'll find him there
To comfort me and hear my prayer.

I often run a little late,
But lovingly He always waits
To share my joy and hear my cares
In my lovely place of prayer.

We talk a lot, my God and I;
He lets me laugh, He lets me cry.
And when I don't know where to start,
It's then He listens to my heart.

from the gospelof SRI RAMAKRISHNA -----------------" can one obtain the vision of God all of a sudden, without any preparation ." ? "A man once asked me, why don't i see God ." ? I said to him, as the idea came to my mind : " You want to catch a big fish. First make arrangements for it . Throw spiced bait into the water . Get a line and a rod . At the smell of the bait the fish will come from the deep water . By the movement of the water you will know that a big fish has come .

GOLDEN RULES FOR A PEACEFUL LIFE

1.  Free your heart from hatred.

2.  Free your mind from worries.

3.  Live simply.

4.  Give more.

5.  Expect less.

No one can go back and make a brand new start.  Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.  God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.

Disappointments are like road humps, they slow you down a bit but you enjoy the smooth road afterwards.

Don't stay on the humps too long.  Move on !

When you feel down because you didn't get what you want, just sit tight and be happy, because God has thought of something better to give you.

When something happens to you, good or bad, consider what it means.  There's a purpose to life's events, to teach you how to laugh more or not to cry too hard.

You can't make someone love you, all you can do is be someone who can be loved, the rest is up to the person to realize your worth.

It's better to lose your pride to the one you love, than to lose the one you love because of pride.
We spend too much time looking for the right person to love or finding fault with those we already love, when instead we should be perfecting the love we give.

Never abandon an old friend.  You will never find one who can take his/her place.  Friendship is like wine, it gets better as it grows older.

Gifts

Don't worry when you think you don't have a gift that seems big and showy.  A smile can change someone's life in the moment you smile at them.. and that is a great gift indeed.  A helping hand when someone is sad and feels like they have nothing left... is a great gift beyond description.  Being thoughtful and kind with words and gestures do more good than you will ever know.  Look to yourself and what you give.. and you will find your gift.

There's A Hole In My Sidewalk:
In Five Easy Chapters

CHAPTER ONE
I walk down a street and there's a big hole.
I don't see it and fall into it. It's dark
and hopeless and it takes me a long time to
find my way out. It's not my fault!

CHAPTER TWO
I walk down the same street. There's a big
hole and I can see it, but I still fall in.
It's dark and hopeless and it takes me a long
time to get out. It's still not my fault.

CHAPTER THREE
I walk down a street. There's a big hole.
I can see it, but I still fall in. It's
become a habit. But I keep my eyes open
and get out immediately. It is my fault.

CHAPTER FOUR
I walk down a street. There's a big hole.
And I walk around it.

CHAPTER FIVE
I walk down a different street.

This was in a daily inspiration I subscribe to

Calves and Common Sense
Ralph Waldo Emerson, the famous 19th century
poet and essayist, was out one day trying to
get a calf into the barn. "But he made the
common mistake of thinking only of what he
wanted: Emerson pushed and his son pulled..
But the calf stiffened his legs and
stubbornly refused to leave the pasture.
"The Irish housemaid saw their predicament.
She couldn't write essays and books; but on
this occasion at least, she had more horse
sense, or calf sense, than Emerson. She put
her maternal finger in the calf's mouth,
and let the calf suck her finger as she
gently led him into the barn."
The lesson is simple but profound: The best
way to influence others is by considering
their desires, not just your own.
