BackGround Tip
Sweet Liberty
Don't use the file cabinet to upload your backgrounds. Your backgrounds will not show up to anyone but members and they will have to be signed in to see them. To everyone else they will appear as a plain white page. Upload your backgrounds to your photo album for best results.

Stop Viruses From E-mailing Your Friends
Sweet Liberty
Trick your address book!
Who among us doesn't know someone who has experienced the embarrassment of unknowingly spreading a computer virus via their email address book?
It's time to STOP this from happening by TAKING CONTROL of your email program! For those who are unaware, many computer viruses spread themselves by sending themselves to everyone in your address book. Imagine how you would feel if you were unknowingly infected with a computer virus, and worse yet, your friends, family, and business contacts were being targeted by your computer! Well, if you want to avoid this sort of thing, here's a great tip:
This tip won't prevent YOU from getting any viruses (you have to scan those attachments yourself before opening them to do that), but it will stop those viruses from latching onto your address book and sending itself out to others.
To avoid spreading computer viruses, create a contact in your email address book with the name : ** !0000 with no email address in the details.
This contact will then show up as your first contact. If a virus attempts to do a "send all" on your contact list, your pc will put up an error message saying that: "The Message could not be sent. One or more recipients do not have an e-mail address. Please check your Address Book and make sure all the recipients have a valid e-mail address." Your messages to an individual or individual addressees will not be affected. You click on OK and the offending (virus) message would not have been sent to anyone. Of course no changes have been made to your original contacts list. The offending (virus) message may then be automatically stored in your "Drafts" or "Outbox" folder. Go in there and delete the offending message. Problem is solved and virus is not spread.

Adding a background from the photo album
Kat
Thanks to "Making Sense of the Sixties" Adding a Background from the Photo Album:
| To add a background to a custom page or message, first put your background into the photo album. Then open to full size. Right click on it, choose properties, highlight the url - (you must scroll to get it all or triple-click on it), and copy (Control+c). You then should paste to note pad so you will have it if you need it again later. | | On your page or message board where you want the background, put your cursor where you want the table to be and click the table icon from the edit menu. Change the columns and rows to 1, and create the table as usual. | | When you click on 'Background' this window opens and you paste (use control V) into the box (you may also choose a color to go behind the graphic if you like). Click Insert Table and you are done. Note that there will be a tiny little box with the background in it. Put your cursor in the box and build your page inside of it. | NOTE: If you are changing an existing background or adding one after the table has been created, you must click on the EDIT TABLE tab (which is the grayed out tab heading in the illustration above). The old URL will show in the URL location if you had a background previously. Delete that and control+v copy in your new one. The button at the bottom will say "Update Table" instead of insert table. |

Template for setting post type
Kat
Here is one way you can make typing messages for group message boards using your own inividual style quick and easy. It does take a couple of minutes to set up a template, but after that, it is easy. First, click on reply and type a short message formatted the way you would normally do it. Include your font style, size, and color. If you use a table and a background, include those, too. And don't forget your standard signature. Next, position the cursor at the end of your short message and backspace over the text. Then click on Use Html to create your page. You will see the HTML for your basic message setup. Press Ctrl+a to select it all and Ctrl+c to copy it. Start notepad and press Ctrl+v to paste the HTML into it. Finally, click File and Save As. Type the name GroupMessage.htm and save it to My Documents. To make your template easy to access, click Start and My Documents. Then drag GroupMessage.htm to the left side of your task bar. If you'd like to change the icon, you can right-click on it and select Properties. Now, here is the easy part. When you are ready to post a message, go ahead and click Reply. Then click your GroupMessage icon in the task bar. Your template will open in a new browser window. Press Ctrl+a to select it and Ctrl+c to copy it and close the window. In the reply box, press Ctrl+v to load your format and start typing

How to get rid of the ugly yellow background
Thanks to Baby Boomers
How to get rid of the ugly yellow background.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When you open a new message box, click the above on the tool bar. This box will come up there will be 2's where the 1's are, but I always change mine to 1. I never bother Padding and Spacing. Click on Borders.... There will be a 1 in the Border Width box, but I changed mine to 10. You can choose any color that you want your Border Color to be simply by clicking on the color. Next.....click Background....... Now choose your Background Color. Just click on any color that you want your background to be. I choose white. Now click Insert Table. You will have a Table inside your message box now. If you'd like to center it, click on the right outside the box and click the center . Your box is centered now. If you'd like to center your message, click inside the Table, backspace 1 time, and click the center again. Now click inside your Table and start typing with whatever color you want to use. The box will grow as you type your message. When you get finished with your message, send as you usually would. And there's your message off the ugly yellow background. I hope this helped you learn how to post a nicer message (You can click inside your first table and start another one and choose different colors. Just follow the directions above again.)

What to do if your message does not post
Kat
This informaton came from someone in Community Feedback. if you click on the Send Message button and your post turns white and doesn't appear to send, don't worry - its not lost and you don't have to retype your message! - just Right Click inside that blank white post window, choose Refresh, then a new little window will pop up, click on RETRY. You might have to do that more than once when the Hiccups are bad Feel free to pass this tip along!! This is great advice if you are like me and forget to copy before you hit send!

Copy screen

- When you have the screen up that you want to copy, press the "alt" key and then press the "print scr" key (usually located on the top right side of the keyboard.
- Open Paint
- Right click in the work area and select "Paste"
- Click on File>save as
- Type in a title. In the drop down menu for the file format, select .jpeg, .jpg, or .gif. (Paint normally defaults to saving pictures as bitmaps and those file types are generally a lot larger than others.) If you find you do not have any other save options (other than bitmap) clean out cookies and temporary internet files and try again.
