How many different kinds of pets have you had?

I have had dogs, cats, horses and hamsters.
Yes, one day my husband decides he wants a pair of hamsters!  I don't know what he thought he had, two females, two males but it turned out to be a male and a female which seemed to turn into a gazillion hamsters.  I think they are cute in a limited quanity but gosh I think we had an army.  I told him nice going, Flash and what next!
You gotte understand we live in the country and in the spring when they till the land sometimes snakes appear now while they won't harm you, I didn't appreciate him opening the cellars windows and found one coming up the cellars steps one time.  Of course, in the fall the mice need a nice warm house to live in.  While some people have them as pets, I don't want them as guests for the winter, eeek!!!
Oh yea, before the hamsters, he had a fish acquarium and with our water it is hard to keep the amonia down in the tank so thats when the hamsters came to our house. We had to put a screen over the top of the acquarium and we used the clear hosing tied on around each end of the tank to keep the screen tight and the cat from visiting them.
I loved the horses, we had five quarter horses.
It was nice going on trail rides.  I still have my tack but no more horses.  They all did live their life out here though.  Also, my daughters had two ponies named Buffy and Jody.
I must go picture hunting in my spare time.
So tell us your story/stories.

Ellen
