well, i'm not usually a violent person but i'm getting there. i think it's common knowledge he's half white, we all knew that before he won. now all i hear in class is how he's "not a real african american." or something to that extent. i think certain people have just run out of valid arguments and this is all they have, rofl. now, after seeing how truly moved african americans were last night, the people going around saying this just don't get it...correct me if i'm wrong but had this been pre-civil rights Obama would have been treated like the rest of them. so, in that sense, he fully would have been black if he would have been treated like one. and i believe for some people that's what last night was about. people who were alive or had family alive during that time and went thru all the bull shit. and honestly until last night i feel like this was my first time to even see a glimpse of what life was like before i was born thru how people reacted last night. i think last night was truly eye opening for people my age or people who grew up in mostly all white places(me again) and some people are just bitter. and incredibly stupid. |

I think a person would be very hard pressed to find an American born black, at least one who had ancestors in slavery, who isn't part white. Not trying to stereotype, but genetic tests have shown that sort of results. So does that mean now that none of them are "really" black????? |

I watched back my recording of the Fox News coverage from last night, and that beyotch who felt it necessary to point out that he's only half black showed her arse-holery later in the broadcast, too. Brit Hume was saying good things about Obama after the acceptance speech, and you could hear her in the background correcting him.
He mistakenly said that Obama was the son of immigrantS, and she said he wasn't. Brit corrected himself and said that's right, only his father was an immigrant. Then you could hear her in the background saying, "Well he wasn't really an immigrant, either, he was just going to school here."
What a sourpuss. Who was she, anyway?

> In the 60's, Jim Crow was still showing his ugly ugly head.
Still is, here in Florida. Amendment 1 was to strike the last Jim Crow law off the books, which allowed the government to prevent Asians from buying land in America, a throwback to WW2.
Florida, in a blast of wisdom also reflected in their decision to vote discrimination into the constitution with Amendment 2 (definition of marriage) decided that the old law must have some merit and struck down Amendment 1.
Cuz, y'know, them towel-heads are ayshuns too, ain't they? We gotta pruhteckt whuts our'ns.

Do you know how the Roman Empire took over the world at the time? One major strategy was for the soldiers to sleep with the women of the country they were taking over. Create children that would be less likely to fight against you because 1/2 their blood would be Roman. And the Romans pretty much took over the world! So I figure we're ALL a bit Italian. The Greeks took over the world too - so we're all a bit Greek...............etc.............etc.......... By the year 2008 I doubt if there is even ONE person in this world that can say they are 100% of any one particular race. Even if they are on "paper" think of all the affairs that happen! In college I had to trace my ancestory - I got back 8 generations on one side! But the father that raised my is not the man that fathered me. Which made the whole thing one big lie! My husband found out after he was 40 years old that his grandfather was not "actually" his grandfather! The mother that raised him was not the mother that gave birth to him. I used to think tracing Ancestry was fun and cool - but now...........what a Joke! |
