Batman goes an outstanding 15-1
RC 14-2
Torty 14-2  (I knew picking against A&M was wrong when I did it, dammit)
Sandy 12-4
Trace  12-4
Jana  10-6

------------

***couple notes, first of all, A&M beat BYU, yet the results show that everyone got that game wrong even for those of you who got it right and picked A&M to win, so the records above indicate the properly adjusted Wins-and-Loss totals.

***and about the scoring records above, two things:
1) I don't know if it's clear whether or not this is a point-per-correct-pick contest or just a straight up-and-down number of Ws vs number of Ls and the best record wins.
2) either way, if one of your Losses is one that reaches long into the tourney, then you overall point potential (if this is a point-based contest) suffers greatly
3) the effect will be similiar if this isn't a point-based contest since your Win potential goes down if you have far-reaching picks that Lost early

Maybe it says somewhere obvious that I haven't bothered to check yet, on our site, if this is point-based or what, does anyone know?

Anyway, congrats to Batman for leading the pack after Day 1.

Now, I have just under 3 hours to find a way to go pull for my Canes at some local establishment full of cheer and beer, and maybe some of those stinking jeering Gator dorks heheh, only during lunchtime though, then I'll be back to watching the game on my phone or something at work, dammit, but that's OK cuz I got a the duckets to slide into the ST. Pete Times Forum in lovely downtown Tampa to watch Vandy beat Siena and Clemson to send home Villanova tonight!

Like I said before, I know jakk about college b-ball but I did argue with my b-friend about Notre Dame/George Mason (I wanted to go with ND) but nooooooooooooooooo, he said go with George Mason 'cause almost every year a 12-seed upsets a 5-seed (of course not this year!!)

Hey, I'm doing well - I fully expected to be in last place all along, lol.

No... I totally expect to lose!  lol.

I watch no college or pro basketball at all.   There are a couple of very close games happening now.  http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/scoreboard?d=2008-03-21&c=ncaa&refresh=60

Yeah, but are you choosing teams based upon the warm and fuzzies or are you doing some sort of diagnostic thing?

Cuz ya know, I have to pick local stuff, no matter how bad they are (hence, UCLA, USC, CSF, etc.), and I have to go for KY all the way cuz of family preferences. Is that what you're doing, too?

anyone see that OT 3pt bomb that lifted 12-seed WKU over 5-seed Drake at the buzzer?

holy smokes

i'm glad they hit it cuz i think WKU got jobbed by the refs on some phantom "charge" foul earlier that enabled Drake to either send it to OT or claim a lead in OT, can't remember...but anyway,

I'd like to rip CBS now for showing really only the meaningless first of of the Miami-St. Mary's game and then switching to that Tennesse-American game for no reason (for those of us watching in FL), then sliding over to the Drake game just to deny the Miami faithful in Florida.  If it were the Gators playing in UM's spot against St. Mary's, and before they won their two national titles, there's no way in hell CBS would've cut to any other game at any other point -- in fact we wouldn't have even heard about the WKU buzzer beater over Drake till after the Gator game.  That's how many Gator dorks and honks live in this state, and that's how hated UM is by the national and state media
