I just saw it - he was so cute! He sang Do I Make You Proud and then talked with Kelly and Anderson Cooper, who was guest-hosting. He talked to Cooper about the coal-mining story Cooper had done, and how Taylor's great-grandfather was a coal miner and how the story touched him. I've heard through the grapevine that Taylor is a bit of a rebel when it comes to his conservative Alabama family. Taylor, it seems, is liberal-leaning, and, as we know, shunned the nine-to-five to travel, sing, and play guitar. WOO! SOUL PATROL! |

He also said that Soul Patrol originated from Las Vegas and then from reading the message boards. I wish I had been a member of Gray Charles or the Fox boards so that he could have read posts I wrote supporting him. |

I can't wait until that single fades away and he has some real music out there. Then I'll be able to watch him, lol. Sometimes I think the producers just love to toy with us (and the contestants, especially). "We're going to make you a star, but first you have to go through the worst obstacle course in history. Every year we try to get a song worse than the winner's song from the year before - we want to see if the public will 'love' the winner despite having to endure the worst music possible." I love Taylor. |

My mom watched it and was pissed. First, she said she didn't like the way Taylor was dressed, as if no one "advised" him. Plus, he sang that horrid horrid new song of his, with just a lousy piano accompanyment (the same lousy pianist they use on that show when people come without their own back-up). And then, his interview was very brief and they didn't ask very good questions. That said, she wanted to see Katharine on the same show this morning and had to call to tell me how they treated her so much better. First, she had decent accompanyment, not that one lousy pianst. Also, she didn't have to sing her lousy single, she got to imitate poor Judy Garland again. And THEN, they gave her much more air time and were all over her about how wonderful she is, blah blah blah. WTF? You'd think the AI producers would at least try to get Taylor good promotional coverage and not let the second place person so totally overshadow him. Not a day or two after the finale, at least. |
