Katharine McPhee, whose budding career has been the subject of white hot speculation as of recent has confirmed that not only will they be performing together on a few of Bocelli’s tour dates this month, but that they will also be collaborating on a few songs in the near future.

Yesterday in her appearance on the Early Show, Katharine also divulged that her album will be top 40, so obviously a bit more of a pop-feel than the bluesy standards we’re used to hearing her sing on Idol–one of which–”Over The Rainbow? is now her official single.

From the Sacramento Bee Review

But Bocelli was then joined by "American Idol" runner-up Katherine McPhee, who thoroughly massacred her part on the love song "Somos Novios" ("It's Impossible") in a duet with Bocelli. McPhee almost redeemed herself on Stephen Foster's "The Prayer."

Ultimately, however, having to share the stage with McPhee robbed Bocelli of the opportunity of singing solo on two of the most heartfelt and popular songs on the program.
