American Idol Winner Taylor Hicks Close to New Endorsement Deal
By Jill Atkins
Jun 8, 2006

Taylor Hicks is definitely a marketable item. He now has a great brand name with both Taylor Hicks and the Soul Patrol and is certainly destined for stardom. So - it makes sense how would get some endorsement offers.

And as he finished 'Head & Shoulders' above the rest of the field and with his not only his voice but his trademark gray mane - his first lucrative offer may be a shampoo deal.

***

A report set to be published in Life & Style claims the soulful singer is seriously considering an offer from Procter & Gamble's - you guessed it - Head & Shoulders shampoo.

The magazine will report that just days after he won American Idol he was asked to star in TV and magazine ads for the product.

"Taylor's know for his hair almost as much as he's known for his voice," a show insider told the weekly magazine.

***

The report details that he has yet sign the deal - but he's considering it.

Good idea?  We'll know soon enough - the 'Soul Patrol' will soon chime in.

--Jill Atkins writes from Hollywood and says - go for it and Taylorize it

Ack. Is this where I rail against commercialization and corporate co-opting of music?

Eh, what are you gonna do. Once Zeppelin sold out, I realized that life as we know it is official over, so nothing anyone does at this point should surprise me.

But Head and Shoulders? Ick. That stuff will strip paint off your wall, any idea what that can do to your head?? I hope he doesn't endorse a product he wouldn't use himself. That would just suck.

Once Zeppelin sold out

Imagine how I felt to hear Dream On during a car commercial.

It made me want to rush out and buy the car!
