Paula Abdul, the most ridiculed judge on American Idol, a hard title to claim with Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell by your side, can expect a few late night jokes to be made about her latest incident, tripping over her Chihuahua and breaking her nose. Just in time for the season six American Idol finale (it wouldn't even surprise us if it was a publicity stunt), Paula Abdul fell while trying to avoid stepping on her Chihuahua, her publicist revealed on Monday. In other words, Paula Abdul should look kind of goofy on tonight's American Idol and you can expect Ryan Seacrest to awkwardly try and explain it. Maybe she'll make more sense with a broken nose.
According to the Associated Press, the publicist for Paula Abdul revealed that the "Straight Up" singer was recovering from the broken nose and will appear on both episodes of American Idol tonight and the final episode tomorrow night. On this evening's American Idol,
Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis will compete for the ultimate title with one of them being crowned tomorrow night. David Brokaw, the publicist for Paula Abdul, said, "
She's a little sore, but is doing fine."
Paula Abdul herself spoke to Extra and said that she tore the cartilage in her nose and fractured her toe, once again, trying to step over her Chihuahua. "I took a nasty fall ... trying not to hurt my dog. I bruised myself on my arm ... my chest, my waist all the way down to my hip. All from my little chubby Tulip. Tulip has no remorse. She just stared at me."
David Brokaw went on about the Paula Abdul nose-breaking incident, one of several unusual stories about the American Idol judge from this season alone, "Paula went to the doctor and she did break her nose, but she's moving on and doing great. She looks terrific. If you didn't know she broke her nose, you'd never guess anything happened to her. She is in pain. No question about that. But you'd never know anything happened to her. There are no bandages. She's got some bruises on her arms and on one of her legs. Tulip is fine. For dogs, every day is Saturday."
The dog made it out unscathed, but either
Jordin Sparks or Blake Lewis will have to suffice with runner-up on American Idol when the final two episodes air tonight and tomorrow on Fox.
