I was surprised to find that I enjoyed a great deal of this finale - I think it's the best finale they've ever had (maybe with the exception of first season).
That duet Doug and Archie did at the beginning was just beautiful - I really, really enjoyed that.
Not a big Seal fan (or a Syesha fan, for that matter), but I did enjoy their duet. Very cute.
Highlight of the night (as far as non-comedy goes, lol) was Doug with ZZ Top. Dang, I bet he was on freakin' cloud 9!! It seemed a little slow, but otherwise it was great.
Loved Graham Nash with Brooke - Teach Your Children is a big favorite of mine though. Graham looks good.
Thought the Simon's-insults-set-to-music was kinda cute. LOVED LOVED LOVED the whole Pips routine - and I thought I wasn't going to like it at all, but it was hilarious. THIS is the way to do a "dead Elvis" routine!
Didn't really get to see much of the SYTYCD kids - really poor camera work - but I did see where Ryan was out there 'dancing' with them. Stupid.
I thought the group numbers were better than in past seasons, yet....meh, I could've done without most of it.
Not a big Bryan Adams fan, his music is kinda generic - the kind of stuff where you say, Oh yeah, I know that song - who did it? But his appearance was 'ok'.
Never was a George Michael fan, not familiar with his music (other than a snippet on a TV ad for a non-rock radio station, lol), would change the channel when MTV would show him, so this was a little bit new for me. I mean, I'm kinda familiar with that Faith song - and I was really blown away that the morning news started playing that when they returned from a break (they always play something) and all the girls, including the one in the field, were all singing along with it. I'm like, jebus, didn't anyone listen to real rock n' roll back then? LOL
Anyway, all that said, besides the fact that I thought I was watching an Eli Stone episode (lmao), GM wasn't unpleasant at all. You know, for that type of music, I mean.
And yeah, Amanda was totally not into this. I think anyone who wants to do AI with the hope of getting exposure should remember what cheesey crap lies ahead if they make top 12, lol.
I heard this morning that the "biggest star" guest didn't make it. It was supposedly going to be "Iron Man", but something went wrong with the logistics or something. I dunno.
I am still in utter shock that Doug won.
