Only about a quarter of the way through but if you love the circus, you'll love this book. It's about a guy that dropped out of vet school at Cornell right before his finals and ended up joining the circus after his parents died suddenly in an accident. So far its been very well written. |

The ending was perfect! Aside from Rosie and stuff but old Jacob doing what he did made me smile so hard. This book was amazing. Has anyone read anything else by her? |

Tennenbaum Options Water for Elephants July 9, 2007 Film rights to Water for Elephants, Sara Gruen's Depression-era circus novel that has climbed atop the paperback bestseller lists, have been optioned by Andrew R. Tennenbaum, a producer of The Bourne Ultimatum.
Variety says Leonard Hartman, who recently wrote a script based on R.L. Stine's "Goosebumps" series for Universal, will do the adaptation. Tennenbaum will produce through his Flashpoint Entertainment.
The story follows Jacob Jankowski, who is about to take his final exams in veterinary medicine at Cornell when his parents are killed in a car accident. He drops out and joins Benzini Brothers, a second-rate traveling circus trying to survive during the Depression. |
