I would like to welcome everyone to the 2005 Loft Awards Banquet. This is the 3rd year I've undertaken the task of holding this banquet for you all and I hope you guys have a great time today!
As you all are aware we have had quite the year, most importantly you will notice a change of venue this year! This change of venue reflects a new branch, a new path for our family. Some say that this place is merely an immitation, a copy of the old Loft. To them I say, No. This place IS the Loft. The essence of the Loft can not be confined to a simple URL. The essence of the Loft lies with its Members. So regardless of what address you may type in to reach us, we represent the Loft. Stronger, Smarter, Wittier than ever before.
Some people shy away from change, wishing to keep things as they are. Some people shy away from change out of fear. But some of us embrace change with excitment and determination and that can be seen right here! This board has blossomed, we have found some long lost friends and most importantly a new home where all of us can feel welcomed.
I would also like to reach out to those who remain at the old Loft. I hope you all can join us here at the Loft. Some of you are missed by many here and there is no reason why we can't all be together.
That being said, I wish you all a superb Awards Banquet and I wish you all some most excellent Holidays.
