WOW! Now THAT was LOST as it should be! What in the world is Jacob? At first, we thought it was just Ben making everything happen with his mind like Walt did. Until, FA came across this screen cap at LOST TV. Upon further research I found the link below. It shows the scene in slow motion. I never saw anyone else in the room. Did you? After watching the scene in slow motion, someone else was definitely there. And how about Richard? The man hasn't aged a day since Ben was a boy. hmmm. And although I sure haven't liked the direction that Locke had been taking lately, I never expected this....... Now the question is if he's dead or if the island will heal him again???????? |

Hmmm, well, I know they like to keep it complex, but that almost seems like it's reaching. Not that it's not totally feasible and applicable, just meaning that the general audience isn't going to really understand that correlation. But anything's possible with this show, lol. But I don't think Locke is the only one that the island "loves". Hurley's bad luck before coming there seems to have subsided quite a bit. Sawyer got to finally meet the bastard that destroyed his family. Claire and her baby are ok (yeah, I know, she didn't conceive there, could be why....). I dunno....maybe in Locke's mind the island loves only him, lol. |

right these are all just my boundless musings......but, honestly, Locke is the only one on the island who has undeniably benefitted from a medical miracle. everyone else is dwarfed by comparison I wouldn't say Hurley's bad luck has subsided.....people have died on the island b/c of it, lol Sawyer got some revenge, but miracle? And he felt bad afterwards... Locke is the one who has a greater purpose, more incentive to stay on the island whereas everyone else wants to go home |

True, there have been few "miracles". I think, besides Locke being able to walk again (and it's not like he 'never' walked before, so who knows - he could've been jarred from the accident and there's a perfectly reasonable explanation....but I digress, lol), Sun was able to get pregnant, despite Jin's lack of sperm count. Locke is the one who has a greater purpose, more incentive to stay on the island whereas everyone else wants to go home Very true! |

Sun's conception by a formerly sterile husband could be viewed as a medical miracle. Ben is being cured of his paralysis. Didn't the black woman (I can't remember her name, she was married to one of the Tailies) have something cured as well? Cancer, perhaps? Speaking of her, how come we never see her or her husband anymore?

well there's no doubt that a host of unlikely things has happened to various characters on the show, but none of them touches Locke's miracle, at least in how they are portrayed on the show, meaning that we are supposed to understand that Locke's bizarre cure is something that is greater than anything else that has happened to anyone else on the island, affirmed by Ben's paranoia about Locke |

Actually, Torty, I think Locke's situation is just perhaps the most "obvious" one, but Sun's pregnancy is a miracle and SF does have a point about the now-missing woman (what the heck happened to her anyway?) - I had forgotten about her cancer. Plus, despite jonesing BIG time, Charlie was able to go without heroin even though there was plenty there.... I think this island may be responsible for a number of medical 'miracles', it's just that Locke's is more noticable to the outsider...plus, his response has been far more intense and attached to the island itself. There may even be some sort of miracle associated on a mental/emotional level as well - such as Sawyer turning into more of a 'nice guy'....there must be more but I'm drawing a blank right now, lol. |

and I'm not waving the flag that Jacob is either KK or JL, lol....those are just my two lottery pick guesstimates based on a shadowy profile comparison and speculation about the mysterious direction of the Lost writing..... it could very well be a noname actor and a brand new character with no background ties to any of the other lost members or others members it could very well be jack's dad with a nocepiece on lol, even though his character was weak and it makes no sense that he'd be in such a position it could very well be that Ben conjured up the whole thing, that it is a trick house it could very well be that Locke himself is Tom Cruise's body thetan I'm just making a guestimated judgement call that, since all this is out of thin air anyway, that KK and JL are too good guesses that I'd likely come across on a multiple choice question about who Jacob is alongside the new character option and maybe a none of the above |

We'll have to disagree then b/c to me there is no question that Locke's cured paralysis, merely by crashing at the island is far more miraculous than a woman becoming pregnant despite a low-sperm count husband (that happens all the time) and Charlies recovery from drug addiction (commonplace) and that mysterious disappearance of cancer is in fact something that has happened before in real life too....but I've never read of a case of paralysis that clears itself up All this rationale though, is secondary to my read that the producers/writers have made it obvious that Locke's situation is unique. |

....anyway, meaning that Jacob was the only one that god said he loved, which would of course jive well with how apparently Locke is the only one the island loves.... ...and about the real John Locke, well he was basically the father to having the government be ran only with the consent of the people, all other forms of government are deemed illegitimate if they do not have the consent of the people...he was an egalitarian, and an inspiration to the american revolutionaries, not to mention, more applicably here, that he was also an inspiration to other philosophers for his words about the self and theology This type of theory reminds me of the people over at the LOST TV forums that believe that the answer to all of the questions are going to be answered by Quantum Physics. WAY too complicated for the average viewer. Didn't the black woman (I can't remember her name, she was married to one of the Tailies) have something cured as well? Cancer, perhaps? Speaking of her, how come we never see her or her husband anymore? Rose and Bernard are in the final episode this year. Producers have said that they have allowed these actors to commit to other roles this season so this is why we haven't seen them on screen. IMO, Jacob is an entity of his own being. He is definitely not Jack's dad or Locke. As far as Kris Kristofferson goes, as far the information that is out, the part has not even been cast yet. |

Pardon my confusion (lol, like that's new), but....is that photo really NOT from the show, but something someone faked to give people something to talk about? Sorry, but I'm "lost" (lol) - if they haven't cast Jacob, then who are we looking at in that pic? ???? |

That pic is actually from the show. I slo-moed it on the DVR myself. And in motion, it really looks like Locke. Plus Locke's reaction sorta indicates that it is him or someone he knows. Certainly not Jack's dad. |

The picture is real as well as the link I posted of the scene in slow motion. Who knows who they used...........Probably some extra or even maybe someone from the show. |

Just wanted to add. The image that I posted was captured from a total of 8 frames of film. The voice that they used during the scene that said, "Help me" was that of one of the producers. |

I've called my shot: the best fitting explanation, given the nature of this show, is that Jacob is Locke from the Future (or Past, I guess, lol). |
