The earliest appointment I could get at the OB was December 4th.. thats two weeks from now! Is that too late for my first appointment?? Good thing I got in to my regular doctor yesterday. She told me to pick up some prenatal vitamins, but I'm just worried about not getting into the OB for so long. |

Thanks Patty! I'm definitely hoping I won't be sick that long. I'm getting really excited though. |

My sister who has 5 children had a male OB doc for her first three pregnancies, she had a female for her last two. She said after going to a woman, she would never have a male OB doc again. |

Cool! Thanks for the info! The one that I have an appointment for is a woman. I don't think I'd ever go to a man. I can't even have my regular doctor look at me, and I've been going to him for 19 years! (He's helped 5 generations!!) When I need that stuff done in office, I go to the woman Dr. Associate there. |

My first appointment was scheduled for around 9 weeks, too. They didn't seem too rushed about it.
When are you due? In the summer?
I am due June 4th, so we probably aren't too far a part. |

are they planning on doing an ultrasound yet? they had to do one for me because i wasn't sure when my last period was for sure. haha. well, it turned out ok for me because we got to see this little thing in there moving around, tiny arms and legs wiggling, and hear the heartbeat. they gave us pictures, too, so that was something nice to keep. only about an inch long at 9 weeks so it was pretty amazing. now i am close to 12 weeks, so it must be about the size of a lime in there now. |

Yeah.. I am "pretty sure" thats when my last period was, but I am bad about keeping track, so I don't know for sure either. I'm sure when I get into the OB finally they'll schedule one soon. At least I'll request one! Yeah.. I'm thinking I might be a little later Chicky. I was thinking more the 29th or so in my head before I went into the doctor! |

Kristin, my doctor doesn't schedule a patient until she's ten weeks along, I guess they want to make sure the pregnancy is going to "take" before they go into the details of it all. |

I'm trying to think of things to not eat-- Tylenol is okay, Ibuprofin is not. You're not supposed to intake alcohol, sushi, processed meats, soft cheeses, and limit your fish to once a week. I guess no raw spinach or sprouts either. They keep adding stuff to the list every year. Pretty soon they'll tell us to eat nothing but brocolli and bottled water. :-P |

With Jo I carried peppermints in my purse and popped one anytime I started to feel sick, it helped a lot. With Dylan I found that any kind of gum worked too. Actually I think Dede told me that... |
