Report: Kristy Lee loses label deal

In what just might be a record for an Idol, Kristy Lee is "no longer signed" to Arista Nashville, according to country industry publication Music Row's online news update Thursday. As you know, she had one album released, a slow seller (25,000 as of Wednesday), and one single, 15 Minutes of Shame, which had been promoted vigorously enough to penetrate the top 30 briefly and is, as of last week, still on the chart. No reason given.

Didn't she just recently get that contract?  Man, they didn't even let the paint dry (so to speak).

Yes it was lightening fast.

I am wondering if Phil Stacey is next to get the ax.  He did not do that well with sales or radio spins.

What a disappointment American Idol has been for so many singers.  All that hope, all that promise, and then you find out that you didn't have much of a fanbase after all.  Bummer.

If it was so easy to have a successful music career, these losers (and I use the term semi-affectionately) would have gotten one without Idol. They failed prior to Idol because they don't have what it takes. Being on Idol doesn't give them what it takes...

I'm happy that some of the ones I've liked who were eliminated early (e.g. Jennifer Hudson and Bucky Covington) have proven that they really DID have what it takes to at least have a career, even if that does not mean being a huge superstar...
