It was very good, but such a sad ending.

Hi FTJ,

I recorded it last night after DHW and have not watched it yet.  Do you think it has "staying power"?

Yeah, if people stuck around after Desperate Housewives to give it a try, I think they'll stay with it.  It left us wondering.

Looks like this show is a hit, at least for now.    There was one report that the show was "troubled".  A producer quit after the "difficult" Betty Buckley was replaced by Sally Field in one of the lead roles.   Buckley is a Broadway star, well known for her portrayal of stepmom Abby on the 70's tv series "Eight is Enough".

"Housewives" led into a nice number for the premiere of family drama "Brothers & Sisters" (6.2/15 in 18-49, 16.1 million viewers overall), which led at 10 in key demos. Despite falloff on the half-hour, "Brothers" still enjoyed a demo lead-in at 10:30 and becomes the first rookie show to win its timeslot.

I watched the first two shows, but it's a bit soap opery for me. Love Sally Field, though.

Second show was not good, third episode got a little more interesting. I'm wondering if Sally Field's character dies off pretty soon or just becomes a recurring guest star. I can't imagine she'd want the grind of a weekly series. Since the title is "Brothers and Sisters", maybe the mom is out of the picture before too long?

P.S. I never watch the "stay tuned for scenes from next week"....so if they showed her drowning or something, please don't post any spoilers here!"

On episode 4 they took a big family photo at the end and made it look like they were wrapping the whole series up.   Like it was a 4 episode mini series or something.   Maybe they didn't expect it to last?

Please diregard my earlier post re this show.....I now like it. A lot. And it isn't like a soap opera, the characters don't stand up during all conversations.
I hope it lasts. I think the family photo was to fill in the space left when the Mom took down the other one without Kitty. I really, really hope that Sally Field stays in.
You know what else I like now? I don't have HBO, so I just recently started watching "6 feet under" on Bravo. This is so twisted....I really love it.

Oh my oh my.  Get ready for some shockers on Six Feet Under.   That one is wild even by MY low standards!

TV ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THIS GOOD!

I hope this show takes all the Emmy awards.  Good to see so many good actors working.....Treat Williams, Rachel Griffiths, Sally, Calista.......enough with the reality nobodies and the non-stars like Paris Hilton and her mom hogging the tv timeslots!

thumbs up for quality

I also like "FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS"
