Okay, I would say that Boomie getting cast as 'Effie' instantly rockets her ahead of all other AI alumni except Kelly in terms of post-show mainstream success. Take a look at my picks each season...
Season 1: Kelly - BIGGEST AI SUCCESS THUS FAR - PROBABLY BIGGEST SUCCESS OF WORLDWIDE IDOL FRANCHISE
Season 2: Kimberley - modest success (however, I would like to point out that as much as I like K-Lo, she was a default choice for me, as I didn't think ANYBODY from that season felt like a big star.)
Season 3: Jennifer Hudson - WON A MAJOR ROLE (BASED ON HER TALENT ALONE) IN A MAJOR FEATURE FILM OPPOSITE SUPERSTARS. ON HER WAY TO POSSIBLY BECOMING A HUGE STAR
Season 4: Constantine - A major network and production company are developing a sitcom AROUND HIM. It has allegedly been given the go-ahead. We will see what comes of this...
While I enjoy Idol for the show, and don't necessarily care that much what happens to the kids after the show ends, but I'd say that my picks are doing pretty well. Pay attention to that, b*tches, when I make my picks for Season 5!!! <tee hee> |

No biggy. I really don't care that Jennifer has a part in "Dreamgirls". I would not pay to see it in a theatre anyway. Maybe a rental since it is suppose to have Beyonce, Danny Glover, Jamie Foxx and Eddie Murphy in it. JMHO. |

The point is not that she has a "part" in "Dreamgirls". It's that she has the LEAD in a MAJOR HOLLYWOOD STUDIO MOTION PICTURE ALONGSIDE ESTABLISHED STARS. Nobody else from idol has done anything close to this impressive except, perhaps, Kelly, and Kelly hasn't had any ONE thing that's this impressive -- it's more that her combined accomplishments add up. |
