American Idol Winner embarks on first national tour Revised dates included below

With a platinum debut album and a Grammy nomination under his belt, Ruben Studdard, the 2003 American Idol winner, takes his Soulful sound to the stage. This solo tour will begin on March 11th at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia and cover 20 cities across the country before finishing in New Orleans on May 9th.

Ruben will be joined by R&B heartthrobs Calvin Richardson and Kem, whose current releases 2:35PM (Hollywood Records) and Kemistry (Motown) respectively, are currently enjoying success on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart.

Ruben's current release, Soulful, is on J Records and features the top ten hit single "Sorry 2004," the Grammy nominated song "Superstar," as well as "Flying Without Wings." Soulful debuted at number 1 on Billboard's Top 200 Chart and has sold more than 1.3 million units in the U.S., remaining in the top 10 for more than 9 weeks since its December 2003 release.

Ruben Studdard is managed by Simon Fuller. Simon Fuller is the creator of American Idol and the founder of the 19 Group of companies. Among Mr. Fuller's other management clients are Kelly Clarkson, Clay Aiken and Annie Lennox.

The tour kicked off in Philadelphia on March 11, and has made stops in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, MD, Charlotte, NC and Los Angeles, CA. Studdard took a moment's hiatus to make an appearance at the 18th Annual Soul Train Music Awards and to shoot the video to his second single, "What If" by noted director Benny Boom.
