According to the 9-11 report that will be out this week.....in the rush to war.....we ATTACKED the WRONG country.  UNBELIEVABLE.  The report says that IRAN gave 11 of the terrorists free passage starting in 2000, and after the attack on 9/11, the government of Iran approached Bin Laden and told him that they wanted IN on the type of terrorist attacks that took place on 9/11. Bin Laden REFUSED their help because they are a different sect of Islam, but now when elections will be held in Iraq, there is a chance that a president will be elected who will be the same sect as Iran <i believe shiite but am a bit confused as to who is sunni and who is shiite right now> and down the line, these two nations could become very close and become a hot bed of terrorism and terrorists.

And Clinton got impeached......UNBELIEVABLE.  Makes me SICK.

Ceeg, calm down girlfriend.  We've had Iran in our sights for quite awhile....and will have to deal with them in short order.  I'm still glad we took Saddam out.  You know, wmd's come in all shapes and sizes.....could even be in the size of an envelope.

If I were the prez, I'd have a twitchy finger over the red button.....  I do think it will come to that regardless of who's in office.

yeah......but at LEAST bin laden and saddam hated each other.  Iran and Iraq didn't like each other either.....now there's no way of knowing.

He is sending 3600 soldiers (army) that was station in Korean,we also have tanks and supplies like such being ship to Iraq. I don't think we need tanks to fight insurgents.

Also interesting is that it has come out that Iraq's interim Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi, personally executed as many as six prisoners (not terrorists) at a Baghdad police station at the end of June.

The prisoners were handcuffed and blindfolded, lined up against a courtyard wall and shot by the Iraqi Prime Minister. Hmm ... seems like we installed a peaceful, non-bloodthirsty man.

And Saddam Hussein has been returned to Iraq, after thousands have died, including our own troops, in order remove the evil dictator.

Wouldn't it be a kick in the head if Iraq re-installed Saddam to power? :lbf :lbf :lbf

Counterterrorism Czar Richard Clarke, who worked for both Clinton and Bush, has always upheld to both presidents that Iraq had virtually no connection with Al Qaeda, and that Iran had/has extensive ties with Al Qaeda, including wanting to be part of the 9-11 attacks. Afghan Al Qaeda members were illegally ushered through Iran to the US for the purpose of committing the 9-11 attacks, and, to this day, Iran harbors Afghan Al Qaeda leaders who fled there when we invaded Afghanistan.

While people on this board can continue to argue whether we should have decimated Iraq to remove Saddam Hussein because he was an evil dictator, there should be no more argument that our attack on Iraq had anything whatsover to do with 9-11 or Al Qaeda.

Apparently info about Iran's ties to Al Qaeda and 9-11, and Iraq's lack of ties to either will be further detailed in the official 9-11 Commission report, which will be released today.
