Fox News is apologizing for posting a phony story on its Web site about John Kerry that it says was written as a joke.

Fox reporter Carl Cameron wrote an item that looked like a news story, and included made-up Kerry quotes.

It read in part that Kerry said, "Women should like me! I do manicures."

Another phony item had Kerry comparing himself with Bush by saying, "I'm metrosexual -- he's a cowboy."

Fox said Cameron has been reprimanded.

"America would be stronger if only George Bush could admit his mistakes as easily," a Kerry spokesman said.
