Okay, let's talk about the war in Iraq then. There is nothing new about the argument that a president lied us into war, but recriminations leveled against GWB's Iraq war are the most outrageous on record. There is not one shred of evidence that we were manipulated or produced falsified intel for the rationale of starting this war. Yet liberals keep trying to breathe conspiracy theories into the equation. Even if the senate intel committee should uncover information that GWB manipulted intel in order to convince us to topple Saddam, that would not affect the question of whether the war we are in is one we should be fighting.
If anything, the Bush administration has understated the evidence on Iraq's wmd program. All of the world' intel agencies, including those of Russia and Jordan agreed that Saddam had chemical and biological weapons not to mention an accelerated nuclear weapons program. Alot of our previous intel had underestimated other nations nuclear capacity (Soviet Russia, China, Pakistan, India, No. Korea and Iraq itself prior to Operation Desert Storm. Baathist Iraqs ties to terrorism including Al Qaeda are a matter of record. That, coupled with the fact that WJC allowed the UN inspectors out of Iraq in 1998 stoked GWB's sense of urgency. I specifically remember the urgency that I felt at that time to take this perp out.
The power-hungry liberals thirst for inquests and tribunals is a last ditch desperation effort to validate their fevered fantasies while smearing (in a partisan manner) the integrity of Bush. The old big lie technique....keep repeating the allegation and eventually it will stick.
