Our dog,  the only "Child" from our marrage is very sick.         She is not eating.
She is very weak and can hardly walk.     She is ten years old.
Last month she was able to jump into the back of my pick-up truck.
Now,  I have to help her get onto the bed where she has always slept with us.

We have a good idea what she has,  I have been giving her the proper medicines.
But at this point I think it is too little,  too late.

She has never just "Wolfed" down her food,  she ate what she wanted and left the rest for later.     Always dry kibble.        I never looked for the signs that she wasn't feeling good.     I did not know she had stopped eating.       I just thought she was being picky.       That she would eat when she got hungry enough.

Now after we have gotten her can food of many kinds.    Soft foods.    Even her favorite treats,  snausages.     Nothing.
Last night I gave her some cooked ham from my fathers trip to my sisters house.
She ate most of it,  now,  today she won't even eat that anymore.

Soon she will be too weak to hold her own bowel and bladder.

Please hold our little girl in your hearts.          I know she is just a dog.      But she is a family member to us.

Her name is Hearsay Girl.      And these are some of her last pictures.

 We love her very much!
And we will miss her greatly and for a long,  long time.

I read in the chatroom that she is doing a little better today.Maybe a little exercise has helped with letting the sickness run it's course and also help with her appetite?I hope she feels better.

Hearsay Girl,   aged ten years 2 months.
She had acute kidney failure,  and since the closest vet was over 100 miles away.
We had no choice.

This photo was taken close to her tenth birthday.

She was a good kid.       Squeeky and I will miss her greatly.

I had a Skiperke who was like a son to me. I only had him for four years before he was killed, but he was my constant companion while he lived. I miss him very much. Its been a couple of years, but I am still not ready to replace him.

I can only imagine how you both must feel after losing your beloved friend after so many years. My sincerest sympathies to you both.

Bro
