Happy Sunday "AAA"ers!!!  This Sunday i just want to spend doing next to nothing!!!  Or, only doing what i want!!!

I watched Micheal Phelps get his 8th Olympic Gold Medal last night!!!  I don't know if anybody here follows the Olympics???  But we usually do...  I have great admiration for people who work so hard to get there and hopefully make it to a medal round...

But an athlete like Phelps make it almost magic like!!!!  Especially Dana Torres...  The 41 year old American swimmer who won the Silver by one 100th  of a second off of getting Gold!!!!  At my age to see that, its inspiring!!!  If only i could get my butt up and off the couch!!!!!!

I also saw The Mummy 3 on Friday night....  It was wierd without the original Evelyn....  But it was very entertaining!!!  I liked the Yehti!!!  And  Shangrilah!!!  the Terra Cotta Army Dudes...  But i found it moved really fast!!

I wish somebody would put big money in a movie based on Atlantis!!!!  In the same way Peter Jackson did with The "Lord Of The Rings"  Big Big Money!!!  That would be so cool!!!!

Sunday.....I had a fun Sunday, I went fishing with the Hubby, we've been told by many people that they are catching their limit in perch for 2 months like crazy, so we decided to take the canoe out there and try our luck.  We fished for 6 hours and caught 30, the great part about fishing here is that I caught, in one of our passes, an enormous sheephead, the biggest one I've ever caught, after fighting it for about 15 minutes, felt like a lot longer though, I landed it and took some pictures and then let him/her go....While the hubby was taking my picture, he landed a double header, thats 2 fish on one line (if you didn't know), then we came home fileted the fish and made it for dinner, yum.  Then I updated my maps for work, since they changed a lot of the names of the roads I drive down, that was work, yuk, hehehehehehe.......

Here it is,  October 19th and it is still so hot that I am sweating through my shirt miserably.

It got cold for a very short time two weeks ago.   Two days of 65 degree days.      Everybody loved it!!!

Now,  the summer's heat just lingers on and on and on....

I know it will eventually get cooler,  maybe even a little cold.
But when????

Ariel,  we have frost about once every two years or so.
Snow about once every ten years.       When I lived in Phoenix we had snow a lot more often then we do here,  90 miles away.

I would have to say that our  January temperatures average 64° maximum and 40° minimum.

Hell Ariel,   that where Squeeky and I live.
It is still hot enough on November 2nd to sweat thruough my shirt at 2:AM.
The summer is,  well,  Hell.     We go through about three or four solid months without going below 100 degrees F.
Even at night the temps are still higher then 100 degrees.     (In Phoenix, heat sink effect)
Here in Ajo,  we rarely drop below 100 at night in the summer.   It does happen,  but it is usually during storms (which are kinda rare all by themselves.    We get high humidity and lighting and mostly dust storms that drop visibility down to less then ten feet.    But water falling from the sky is limited to about three times a summer.)

The advertising for Ajo is:     "Ajo,  Where Summer spends the winter!"

Right now,  Squeeky and I went to two parties friday night.      And one on thursday.
Last night (saturday) I went to the Circus!!!

Relax,  it was a small thing.     One ring and no top.      No animals either!
But it was fun!       I got re-hired back by the paper again.       Kinda an on-call situation.

When they have more events then responsible people they call me and my camera.
I don't mind.     It gives me something to do.    Like the parties and Circus.

BTW,  Squeeky tried the best costume contest Friday.     She was a Real Cute little devil!       Kinda sexy too!
She didn't place,  but she got more applause then some of the others!

Squeeky and I are going up to Phx. on Monday for another Dr's appt.       Then one in Tucson on Friday for me.     This week I will drive over 450 miles just to go to Dr.s appointments.

Almost makes it worthwhile to live in a city,  huh???    Instead of 40 miles to the nearest McDonalds or other fast food.

Well drive safe and good luck for your appointments...  I'm glad to hear Squeeky won the applause if she didn't get the prize...  The one party i went to at the local bar here, it handed out about 4 prizes...  Which is out of the ordinary...   Usually its just first and second prize...  So I thought that  was pretty cool of them...  I really hate our winters when its really cold...  But i don't know if i could get used to 100 degrees!!!!

It is a cold winter so far.
Most of the country is in some kind of weather disentary.     Stuff just keeps pouring out!
We finally went chilly.     I am sitting here without heat and shivering.
Typing under a blanket.      My house has no insulation and is also very porous.
Good for the summer when I have a swamp cooler pushing gobs of airflow,  not to good for the winter though.

I HATE COLD!!!!  Wow Luke...  I'm so surprised to hear that???  What temp are we talking out there for you to be cold???  I agree with you about the weather being weird everywhere though...  It started getting really warm tonight I'm guessing around 40F, maybe a little warmer, and we'll have it for about 2 days then cold again...

I'm sorry you don't have heat Luke.

My Sunday was loooong.  My son had an ear ache and a fever so we had to take him to a walk in clinic.  Luckily it wasn't super busy.  It turned out my son had gobs of wax in both ears and the wax was starting to push on his eardrum.  And that made it hurt.  He didn't have an ear infection.

But he did have strep.  He never even told me his throat hurt.  Sigh.  But anyway he is on antibiotics and he's feeling better already.  We had to wait in the clinic for a long time.  And then they wanted to clean his ears out.  Which they did and I'm glad of that. And my son was so good about letting them do it.  I was quite proud of him.  And before he left he had the nurse, the doctor and one of the receptionist eating out of his hands. They told me how sweet he was and what a good patient he was(which he normally isn't!).  He's such a little charmer, lol.

I hope you all had a good weekend.  Mine was kind of long since my son was sick.  But we made it thru and he's better so I am happy.

Ariel,  it was between 42 and 44 degrees last night.
Not very cold I know.     But if your not used to that it can sure feel cold.

I grew up in a much colder climate,  I also worked at an open air ice rink.
Many times it was 10 or more degrees below zero at the rink when I was there in the early AM.
My job was to keep the ice clean.     I drove the Zamboni for three years.
Also a little lawn mower type of thing with ice scrapers instead of grass blades.
That worked the corners down from the ice build-up from running the Zamboni
with the water on full blast all the time instead of turning it off at the corners.

The evening and night time attendants had all they could do just to drive the thing,
much less work ten different controls in 30 seconds.
