Well...both lumps are benign. The bigger one is soft and hasn't gotten any larger. The Dr asked me about hormone treatment, I said no. I don't really want to take hormones at this point in my life. The thyroid gland controls your metabalism & effects your hormones. My mother was on hormone treatments for years, I don't want to go down that road if I can help it. So it looks like the larger one is a goiter. Doesn't that sound attractive?(hopefully it doesn't get as big as the lady on Seinfeld)Anyway, I've decided to wait and see if it does get larger. If it does, I'll have to have surgery to get it removed. It is still very annoying especially when I lay on my back, but the Dr told me that even if they drained it, more than likely it would fill up again. (sorry for being graffic). So it's a wait & see kind of thing. |
