One tiny teardrop
Falls from a sad eye
Sprung from a lonely heart
Filled with regret and loss
One outcast tear
Falls to the ground
And is swallowed whole
With immense yearning and need
One drop of a broken soul
Forlorn and ne'er forgiven
Immerses a frozen seed
Laying dormant and unnoticed
One hopeless droplet
On its decent into oblivion
Awakens the sleeping seed
That opens and begins to grow
One struggling little seed
Stretches dauntlessly towards the sun
Piercing rock and root and stone
Wanting naught but to be free
One hopeful little seed
Nourished by a forgotten tear
Climbs through unyielding stone
And spreads its petals in the sunlight
One tiny little flower
Breathes air and soaks up light
Owing its fragile life
To an unknown creature's sadness
