Your at a Doctors appointment for a regular check-up.       You tell your Dr something about your private life and never think about it.
She asks you to come back in three days for bloodwork,  so you do.

While waiting in the waiting room,  you notice that all the staff seems to be looking at you strangely.     You put it off to the nice outfit you are wearing.
As you are led to the treatment room with the nurse,  you definately notice that you are the center of attention,  people quickly talking to another worker behind their hand and so on.      You are worried.     You think the Dr. might have found something wrong,  and the blood work will show some horrible disease.

As the tech is taking your blood,  you ask her what is wrong...         She gets all embarassed and changes the subject.     You persist and ask again.
And she says in a condescending tone,   "Don't worry so much sweetie,  your husband will know what to do."          And you suddenly realize that your seemingly innocent talk with your Dr. has now made the gossip of the office.

What do you do?

I would  look her in the eye and ask her if it is common practice to have this much gossip in the office. Then I would calmly tell her that at least when people are talking about me behind my back they are leaving other people alone.

Heeheehee, I have a dr's appointment today Luke, now I'm gonna think everyone is looking at me and whispering!

I would most likely be very concerned about just exactly how and when I came into possession of a 'husband.'

LOL Dis.

Hahahahaha Bro

I would tell the tech it was none of her business what my husband could or could not do for me.  Then I would speak to the doctor about his/her unprofessional behavior.  Then, I would probably find a new doctor.  That is unprofessional and not conducive to patient doctor relations.  If you don't trust your doctor, you can't tell them all the pertinent information that may be vital to your health.

I would like to wonder what the heck it is that they know or don't know.....maybe i'd ask....I'm always on guard when talking about personal things even to doctors...I haven't seen a doctor in about 4 years......I think I should go, maybe that's why I've been sick......

Whammer!!!!  Not going to the doc for 4 years????  Not an option!!!  You know what I'm talking about!!!

As for this situation....  You know what you say to the doc is supposed to be in the strictest of confidence!!!!  I don't think i would go so far as to sue, But i would probably in a very loud and angry tone be asking how this piece of info spread through the office?????  No matter what it is!!!
