ALOHA SCONES
2 cups all purpose flour;2 tspns baking powder;
1/4 cup granulated sugar;1/4 tspn salt ;
5 tblspns chilled butter, diced;1/2 cup chopped dried papaya;
1/2 cup chopped dried pineapple;1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts;
1/2 cup shredded coconut;3 ozs white chocolate, cut in very small pieces;
1 large egg, beaten;1/2 cup milk;1 1/2 tspns rum..
Position the rack in center of oven and preheat
to 400 degrees F.
Lightly grease and flour a baking sheet.
In large bowl, blend together the flour, baking powder,
 sugar, and salt.
Using a pastry blender or two knives scissor-fashion,
 cut the butter into the mixture until it
resembles coarse meal.
Stir in the papaya, pineapple, nuts, coconut
and white chocolate.
Add the egg, milk, and rum,
stirring gently until the dough holds together.
Transfer the dough to the prepared baking sheet
and pat it into an 8-inch circle.
 Using a serrated knife, score into 8 wedges
( do not cut all the way through the dough).
Bake for 28 to 20 mins,
or until the top is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and cool on
wire rack for 5 to 7 min. before serving warm or cold
